Hey there friend! Do you like gemstones and crystals? So as a child, I collected “rocks”. It started at a very young age and as most children toddle around and see sparkly bits in the ground, they are curious and pick them up.
I started getting even more curious and my dad would take me on walks when we went on trips and we would look at the rocks and classify them. I always was fascinated, I mean absolutely floored and how many different one I could find. I started labeling them, and had a collector’s box. I got a tumbler one year for Christmas and began that process…but ever the impatient child, it took forever to make the rocks shiny and smooth. I still remember my first necklace that I ever made.
Anyway, I also remember one thing I was drawn too was quartz crystals. I loved them and when I would find rose quartz, I was always over the moon. The other “rock” that I fell in love with as soon as I saw it was called mica. I was fascinated by the layers and layers of sheets that appeared to form. I linked that to a kid friendly site if you want to check it out. I picked up the sheets and would pretend that was how they made sunglasses as a young kid. I was always asking why, what can I use this for, and what can I pretend happened here or what imaginary story goes with this.
I never really thought about how much I enjoyed the process of finding them until my youngest started looking at them just like me. On a trip to the mountains, we found the biggest piece of rose quartz I had ever seen…naturally I had to dig it out and bring it home. It sits in my garden in front of my house.
So just for fun, I took this quiz and I really liked it so I decided to share it with you too. I really enjoyed the questions on these and a few of them I was drawn to more than one answer, but I went with my first response. Enjoy and let me know if you liked your answer.
Sometimes there are perks associated with having a really old soul. At other times, it feels like a struggle. What does it mean to have an “old soul” anyway?
There seems to be a kind of perspective not found until later years in old souls. At times, you might feel alone, and/or really enjoy your alone time. Your best friends seem to be knowledge, wisdom, and truth as you just don’t have time for the fakeness others seem to put out there. You really want to get to the heart of the matter.
So let’s see how old you are with this fun quiz.
Discovering spirituality is a personal thing, and this quiz is really just for fun, but having a spiritual master to read more about, and the theory he or she practiced can help you along the way. A guide is meant to be just that…a guide. So who do you think like?
By the way, feel free to leave a comment, pin the quiz and share with your friends!
I have long been interested in the Myers-Briggs type tests and quizzes. They say there are 16 basic personality types and there are lots of free quizzes out there for you to read up on. This is another type of quiz here as well if you are interested, but I really was fascinated with this new type of quiz that combined several things into one quiz!
There are many quizzes based on the four elements, but most are rather light on research. This quiz will analyze your personality using ancient theories such as the 4 Temperaments, the 4 Cardinal Virtues, and the writings of Plato and Aristotle, as well as modern theories such as the Myers Briggs (MBTI), the Enneagram, etc. So are you Earth, Water, Air, or Fire? (The quiz now includes mixed elements.) So without further ado, try this out and let me know in the comments on this blog what you got. Does it sound right? Share it with a friend.
At some point in your life, your head and your heart simply do not agree. Your head is over here being all practical…and your heart, well, it wants to quit work, become an entrepreneur, and live a glorious life. Wait, I did that actually.
So the process was scary as hell, and if you are new to my blog, you know that I did it to save my life. << Read later if you are new. The hours spent in agony at making a decision all boiled down to one thing…money actually.
What would be the best for me physically at the time was not going to pay the bills; however, after a particularly bad spell which lasted 3 weeks, my husband said the words that finally broke through to my head as well. The job was not worth sacrificing my health.
Alrighty then. A weight had been lifted. The fear was gone and a plan was made. The connection between my heart and my head was now on the same path, and I had one goal that lined up to who and what I was supposed to be.
The paralyzing indecision was gone. We would make this work. I sure wish I hadn’t wasted lots of energy when my decision was split, but I truly wasn’t listening to my heart. My head kept getting in the way. Luckily for me, I learned a great deal about myself during the process of leaving work, going on a sabbatical to heal, and then building my business around my dreams of helping others.
What about you? How balanced do you feel lately?
In my Head|Heart|Health Club, I teach journal therapy, ways to connect to your inner most desires, and how to enjoy a complete lifestyle change. Indecision leaves you feeling powerless. It truly drains you of energy. Feel free to connect with me through my online portal as I would love to have more like-minded people working towards the same goal.
Which Chakra Are You Guided By?
Chakra used to be a word that I really didn’t understand and therefore had a hard time grasping at first in my yoga studies. What in the world is a Chakra anyway? Why is it important?
In Sanskrit, the word Chakra literally means wheel. So far so good…but in yoga and other forms of healing, it refers to wheels of energy in the body. Energy is connected to the physical body through the 7 different areas, and when one is blocked, we begin to feel out of balance.
The 7 Chakras are as follows:
- Root- The Muladhara (red)
- Sacral- The Svadhisthana (orange)
- Solar Plexus- The Manipura (yellow)
- Heart – The Anahata (green)
- Throat – The Vishuddha (blue)
- Third Eye – The Ajna (indigo)
- Crown- The Sahaswara (purple)
Now let’s see what Chakra you are guided by and therefore what colors you might consider adding to your wardrobe! Feel free to pin it and share it with others!
Sometimes, we hide our true selves under layers and layers of masks. You know it happens. But what if there was really more underneath?
What is the “true self” anyway? The true self is certain and clear about things and is different from your everyday self who gets confused by lots of outside influences.
Try this fun quiz just to see what it reveals about your true self and feel free to comment on whether or not it was accurate. This is purely just for fun, but feel free to pin it and share with friends using the share options!
I know that many people like quizzes, so I took this one and liked the questions…and my answer a lot! Ignore the date it was created as the questions are really cute and we all know that as we soul search, it really doesn’t matter what year we decide to try new things as long as we try them. Right? Feel free to share with others.
As you are answering, go with your gut and then take it one more time if you weren’t sure. But definitely don’t be afraid to try something new this year! Happy New Year and thank you for being here.
For a very long time, we have thought there were little inklings of another sense out there that can only be described as your “Sixth Sense”. Now, a researcher in the U.S. says he has discovered the ability to detect, in some subconscious way, Earth’s magnetic field. <<< really cool, huh?
We already know some of us can see impossible colors, pick up on smells before others, and even “read” someone as soon as they walk into a room.
Researchers have been looking into this for a very long time and have even speculated that there was a protein in the human retina that aids in sensing the magnetic fields. In any event, all this leads up to fun speculation on what your sixth sense would be, right?

So earlier in the week, I was having a very odd day. Turtles keep showing up in my life, which never surprises me really, but I saved 3 in one week. The last guy was trying to cross the road so I got my “gloves”, which were napkins, and ran to pick him up carefully and move him to the side of the road. As I was doing so, I believe I was peed upon, so I laughed hilariously as my girls watched and I said yup. Think I scared the turtle. My youngest just thought water was coming out…I said, well I think it might have been pee which is why I was laughing. It just goes to show that even when life pees on you, you keep helping others.
